ZOE MAZI BOARD BIOS
Shannon Zimmerman
Executive Director

Shannon lives in Mechanicsburg, PA. After spending 23 years as a math teacher, most recently at Red Land High School, she knew God was asking her to invest more in the lives of young adults after she had spent years inviting college students and young adults to her home to share conversation and healthy meals. Because her commitment to her students didn't leave time or energy to pursue this, she decided to retire from teaching in order to be more available to pour into the young adult community. After spending over a decade as a youth worker at church and 10 more years assisting with Christian clubs at RL, she has watched many teenagers become young adults who are longing for community. The hope is that Zoe Mazi provides a place where they can find Christ-centered community and connection. Shannon is a member of The Meeting House in Dillsburg. She thoroughly enjoys preparing/eating/sharing healthy food; spending time with her nieces; going for walks with friends; leading a girls' Bible Study at Messiah University, and working at one of her sweet part-time jobs -- tutoring students in math or welcoming students/community members to the Messiah University fitness center!

Becky Hanusa

Becky Hanusa lives in Dillsburg, PA with her husband Mark, her son Luke, and her daughter Lizzie. Becky was a high school history teacher for 7 years before choosing to stay home with her kids. She then prolonged that time at home during COVID when she decided to homeschool "just for 1 year". Four years later, she continues to homeschool her kids and helps run a small co-op. In every season of life, Becky has stayed involved in various ministries for the sheer reason that she is continually drawn into life in Christ by His deep love, His goodness, and His saving power - and she deeply desires for others to know "this hope to which He has called [us]." (Ephesians 1:18) Becky is originally from the Adirondacks in New York State and she enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, kayaking, etc. Her husband's family is from Alaska, so her family usually spends a sizable chunk of their summer helping out at his parents' fishing lodge. Becky deeply appreciates the ministry of Zoe Mazi and is thankful for how this group demonstrates Christ's depth and authenticity. She is delighted to serve on the board and come alongside this ministry.
